Captain Brutus Review
General Overview:
Hasbro kicks off Star Wars: Skeleton Crew in the Black Series with Captain Brutus, a pirate with a serious Hondo Ohnaka meets Jack Sparrow energy. With a rugged coat, a mischievous look, and enough pistols to start a small war, he’s an eye-catching addition to any collection. Released in November 2024, he sets the tone for an exciting new wave of figures.
Accessories & Functionality:
Five pistols—because apparently, one or two just wasn’t enough! While the detail on each weapon is impressive, the biggest flaw is the lack of holsters to store them all. Expect to set a few aside or risk Brutus dual-wielding at all times.
Articulation & Poseability:
Standard Black Series articulation means you’ll get plenty of great action poses. A bit of a drawback comes with the plastic coat, which slightly limits arm movement, but he can still pull off a commanding pirate stance.
Head Sculpt & Paint Application:
Brutus’ head sculpt oozes personality, even if he’s not based on a known actor. The paintwork is sharp, and the weathered textures on his coat and gear add to his gritty, battle-worn look.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re a fan of pirates, scoundrels, or just Star Wars characters with big personalities, Captain Brutus is a must-have. Despite a couple of minor issues, he’s a strong start for Skeleton Crew figures in the Black Series.
