Marvel Legends Maggott X-Men Bonebreaker BAF Wave Guide
Maggott was released as part of the Marvel Legends X-Men Bonebreaker Build-A-Figure Wave in 2022. In a wave full of mutant characters with stronger mainstream recognition, Maggott stood out as one of the deeper comic cuts, which immediately made him more interesting to long-time X-Men collectors. Hasbro based the figure on his classic comic appearance, complete with blue skin, red eyes, and long coat, giving him a look that is distinctive on the shelf and very different from the standard superhero body types in the line.
SCULPT AND DESIGN
This release has a lot more personality than a standard Marvel Legends figure. The base body is broad and solid, but the long coat overlay changes the silhouette enough to make Maggott feel visually different from most of the wave. The costume colours are bold without being messy, with the blue skin, white chest, dark coat, and red lower half all helping him stand out in a display. The portrait also does a lot of heavy lifting here. The grinning expression and mohawk-like hair tuft fit the character’s unusual comic presentation and stop the figure from feeling generic.
Articulation is generally good for a modern Marvel Legends figure, though the long coat naturally limits some leg movement compared with a plain body mold. Upper body posing is still strong, and the figure has enough movement to work in neutral stances or slightly more animated display poses. Overall, the design feels true to the comic version Hasbro was clearly aiming for.

The two slug companions are the accessories most likely to go missing on loose examples, and they matter a lot because they are such a key part of Maggott’s character. The alternate head is also worth checking for, since missing portrait options can make a loose figure feel less complete. On second-hand listings, this is also a figure that is often split from the Bonebreaker head and weapon piece, so completeness matters more than usual.
The coat is a defining part of the sculpt, but it is also worth checking for paint rub and warping. Because the figure relies heavily on bold colour contrast, messy paint around the face or chest stands out quickly
