You get 11 accessories between the pair, Wolverine comes with alt hands and a signature “X” slash effect that practically yells “berserker barrage” when you look at it. That effect piece even plugs into a clear stand so he can be posed mid-attack, just like the old sprites.

Silver Samurai’s got a more measured loadout, but no less dramatic, a katana, a throwing star with a trailing energy sculpt, and an electricity effect that clips to his blade. It’s pure arcade energy. I half expected the box to hum like a CRT monitor when I opened it.

The paint work is sharp and vivid. Wolverine’s suit pops in that Capcom-style blue and yellow combo, complete with black shoulder pads. Silver Samurai’s armour has a satisfying metallic finish, and there’s great detail on the sculpt, right down to the intricate plating. It’s more arcade cabinet than film adaptation, and that’s exactly the point.

Articulation and Display Potential

Silver Samurai may be armoured, but his articulation isn’t too hindered. He can still swing that sword with conviction. And I have to give Hasbro props for including those clear display stands. Too often, effect pieces just end up leaning against things. Here, they’re part of the display language, each figure looks like it’s in motion.

As someone who likes posing figures mid-attack, and has knocked over far too many during minor desk earthquakes, I appreciate the added stability.
