As a dedicated Masters of the Universe (MOTU) fan, the recent release of the Origins Extendar figure has been a thrilling event. Extendar, a noble hero transformed by Hordak’s experiments, now returns with extendable limbs and a striking design. This new Origins figure stands 5.5 inches tall and extends to 8 inches, boasting 16 points of articulation, a folding shield, and a mini-comic. Retailing at £20, it promises to be a valuable addition to any MOTU collection, capturing the essence of the vintage figure while offering modern enhancements (Mattel Creations).

Extendar’s Comeback
If there’s one thing that tickles my nostalgia bone, it’s the resurgence of Extendar in the Masters of the Universe Origins line. This guy was a favorite of mine back in the day—Hordak’s experiment gone right, turning into a heroic knight with an extendable body! The new Origins Extendar is everything I hoped for and more.
This updated version stands at a solid 5.5 inches but can stretch up to 8 inches thanks to its extendable limbs and neck. With 16 points of articulation, this figure is as posable as it gets, making those epic battles against the Evil Horde even more dramatic. Plus, it comes with a cool folding shield and a mini-comic, bringing back memories of the old-school MOTU days.
Gold Plastic Syndrome
Speaking of memories, I still have my vintage Extendar, although he’s seen better days thanks to the dreaded Gold Plastic Syndrome (GPS). For those not in the know, GPS is when the gold-colored plastic becomes brittle over time, leading to heartbreaking breakages. So, having a brand new, sturdier version of Extendar is like a dream come true!
One of my favorite aspects of the new figure is how it stays true to the original design while incorporating modern articulation and detailing. It’s like seeing an old friend after years and realizing they’ve aged gracefully.
For anyone who’s been following my blog, you know I’ve been on a Masters of the Universe kick lately. If you enjoyed my write-up on the Mondo Masters of the Universe Sky Sled or my detailed look at Snout Spout from the Masterverse line, you’ll definitely want to check out this new Extendar figure.
So, to my fellow collectors and MOTU enthusiasts, get ready to add this shining knight to your collection. It’s a nod to our childhood with a quality that ensures it’ll stand the test of time—no more worrying about brittle plastic!
