The Transformers Collaborative line has rolled out its latest mashup, and this time it’s all wheels, flames and mechanical mayhem. Hasbro has teamed up with Hot Wheels to bring us two new additions to the crossover family – the bold and brash Transformers Bone Shaker robot and the sleek, speed-infused Hot Wheels Twin Mill Transformer. These 5-inch figures convert from iconic Hot Wheels car modes to fully articulated robot modes, giving long-time fans of both franchises something fresh to admire. In this post, I’ll break down both figures, share some thoughts on what works (and what doesn’t), and explore whether this collab is a win or just an expensive novelty.

Transformers Bone Shaker Figure by Hot Wheels

Let’s start with the star of the show – Bone Shaker. The name alone carries weight in the Hot Wheels universe, and its transformation into a full-fledged robot somehow makes even more sense than expected. The Transformers Bone Shaker figure by Hot Wheels stands proud in robot mode, with the vehicle’s skull-shaped front grill forming the torso. It’s not subtle – and that’s entirely the point. This figure is loud, detailed, and full of character.

What really helps sell Bone Shaker is its flame-deco rat rod design, pulled straight from the die-cast original. The included gearshift-mace accessory is a fun addition too – it plugs right into the figure’s hand and fits the gritty aesthetic. This isn’t your average Autobot – Bone Shaker has more in common with Mad Max than Cybertron.

In terms of transformation, it’s satisfyingly intuitive. There’s a nice rhythm to flipping the limbs and folding the body, and the car mode holds together well. No loose panels, no forced movements. For collectors who want their Hot Wheels Transformers Bone Shaker to look good on a shelf without fiddly engineering, this one delivers.
Hot Wheels Twin Mill Transformer

Now let’s talk Twin Mill, the other half of this Transformers Hot Wheels collab toy set for collectors. Where Bone Shaker is all attitude, Twin Mill is all speed. It’s an iconic car from the Hot Wheels line – easily recognised by its dual engine blocks and aggressive silhouette – and that design translates fairly well into a Transformer, albeit with a few caveats.

The Hot Wheels Twin Mill Transformer has a streamlined helmeted head, chest details taken straight from the car body, and engine cannons that double as arm-mounted blasters. It’s ambitious, and in still photos, it looks fantastic. The flame effect accessories help round out the overall aesthetic.

But up close, the seams start to show. The robot mode is a bit hollow in places, especially in the legs. The arms can feel a little thin, and overall there’s not quite the same structural confidence you get with Bone Shaker. For a $30 deluxe figure, some fans are right to question if Twin Mill offers enough build quality to match the price.
Collaborative Transformative Hot Wheels
This Hot Wheels Transformers crossover project is a fun twist on brand synergy. Hasbro and Mattel playing nice isn’t something we see every day, so seeing these kinds of collaborative designs feels like a win on principle alone. For long-time Hot Wheels fans, these are recognisable vehicles turned into dynamic action figures. For Transformers fans, it’s a new corner of the multiverse worth exploring.
Are they flawless? No. But they’re exciting, display-worthy, and undeniably cool. That matters – especially in a toy landscape that sometimes takes itself a bit too seriously. These figures are bold, brash, and maybe even a little bit silly. And that’s exactly what makes them fun.
Opinionated Verdict: Are They Worth It?
Hot Wheels Transformers Bone Shaker – this one’s a strong yes from me. It looks incredible, transforms well, and has just the right amount of weirdness to stand out in a display. The Transformers Bone Shaker robot is packed with personality and well-executed details.

Transformers x Hot Wheels Twin Mill – it’s a trickier call. It looks great in vehicle mode and has a strong visual identity, but might not live up to deluxe-class expectations in hand. If you’re collecting the line or love Twin Mill specifically, it’s still worth picking up. But if you’re after durability or deep articulation, you might want to hold out.

Both figures mark a promising start to what could become a great sub-line of Hot Wheels Transformers figures with robot mode. Whether you’re here for nostalgia or just want something fresh in your collection, these two bring a unique flavour to the shelf.

The Transformers Bone Shaker figure by Hot Wheels brings a bold, eye-catching transformation with impressive sculpting and a memorable presence. The Hot Wheels Twin Mill Transformer delivers sleek styling and car-mode perfection, with a few compromises in robot mode. Both stand as solid entries in the growing list of Collaborative Transformers Hot Wheels toys – and a fun step into an unexpected corner of the Transformers universe.
