Boba Fett has been turned into plenty of LEGO sets over the years, but this one takes a different route. Rather than another version of his ship or a small minifigure-scale scene, LEGO has built the bounty hunter himself.
The result is a 1,544-piece display model standing over 16 inches tall. It was announced earlier, but LEGO has now confirmed the US price and release details. It is not available to pre-order yet.

Boba Fett Suits This Style of Build
Some characters would struggle as large brick-built figures. Human faces can look awkward once they are made from plates, slopes and exposed studs.
Boba Fett avoids that problem.
His helmet hides his face, while the armour gives LEGO plenty of shapes and colours to work with. The green chest plates, red helmet trim and yellow shoulder armour make the character easy to recognise.
This version is based on his appearance in Return of the Jedi. The swivelling rangefinder is included, along with his jetpack, blaster and fabric cape.
From the official images, the helmet is the best part of the model. The narrow visor has the right shape, and the slight angles stop it from looking like a plain box.
The body is much more blocky. That is not a major problem, but collectors will need to like LEGO’s brick-built character style. This is not meant to look like a smooth statue.
Display Options Without Full Articulation
The head, arms and hands can be adjusted.
That does not make this an action figure. The movement appears to be there so collectors can make small changes to the pose rather than leaving Boba standing completely straight.
His blaster can be positioned in his hands, while the head can turn to change where he is looking. The rangefinder can also move.
Keeping the articulation simple is probably the right choice. A figure this tall needs strong joints. Too much movement could make the arms sag or leave the model feeling unstable after a few months on display.
The sandy base represents Tatooine and gives the build a clear Return of the Jedi connection. It also makes the figure look more complete than a model standing directly on two brick-built feet.
What Comes in the Box?
Alongside the main figure, LEGO includes a matching Boba Fett minifigure.
The minifigure has its own small stand beside an information plaque. This is similar to the presentation used across LEGO’s adult collector sets.
It is a nice extra, although it will not make or break the value. Most of the $169.99 price is clearly tied to the size of the main build.
The set also supports Build Together mode through the LEGO Builder app. This allows several people to work on different parts of the model using separate devices.
For many collectors, the more useful question is how it compares with other display sets. Anyone who enjoyed the smaller character-focused feel of the LEGO Mini AT-AT may like the same idea taken to a much larger scale here.
It is also easier to place than a huge location set such as the LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star, although a 16-inch figure still needs a fair amount of height.
Is It Worth $169.99?
The price will decide this for most people.
At $169.99, the LEGO Star Wars Boba Fett set is not a casual character purchase. It is aimed at collectors who want Boba to be a main part of their display.
The piece count is reasonable for the price, but piece count never tells the full story. Many of the bricks are being used to create the internal structure and large body sections rather than a detailed vehicle or location.
The strongest argument in its favour is that Boba Fett works well in this format. His helmet and armour translate neatly into LEGO, and the included equipment helps the model feel complete.
The main concern is whether the body will look too stiff once collectors see it in person. We are also working from promotional images, so final joint strength, brick colour matching and general quality cannot be judged yet.
