McFarlane Fallout Wave 2 Figures: Power Armour, Nick Valentine and More

McFarlane Toys is heading back into the wasteland with another batch of Fallout figures. This time, we get two versions of NCR power armour, Nick Valentine, a Desert Ranger and two new Vault Boy collectibles.

The McFarlane Fallout Wave 2 figures are now available to pre-order, with the main releases expected in November 2026. There’s a good mix here, although two figures sharing much of the same sculpt does raise the question of whether you really need both.

Release Date: November 2026 (expected)
MSRP / Price: $34.99 each for the three standard 7-inch figures. Other prices vary by release.
Edition Size / Production Run: Standard retail figures and selected exclusives. Exact production numbers have not been announced.
Manufacturer / Licence: McFarlane Toys / Bethesda Softworks, Fallout

Two Power Armour Figures, But Which Looks Better?

The first two releases come from Fallout: New Vegas, with the NCR Salvaged Power Armour and Scorched Sierra Power Armour joining the Gaming Edition range.

Both use much of the same bulky armour sculpt, which makes sense considering their designs in the game. The difference comes mainly from their colours and armour details.

The NCR Salvaged version has that familiar battered military appearance. It looks like a suit that’s seen plenty of action, rather than something fresh from a factory.

Scorched Sierra is the more striking of the two. Its distinctive colour scheme and armour decoration help separate it from the standard NCR version. Both figures include a machine gun, backpack, four additional hands and display base.

McFarlane lists up to 22 moving parts, although bulky shoulder armour and leg sections could restrict some poses. We’ll need to see how well those joints work on the finished figures.

At $34.99 each, I’d probably choose Scorched Sierra for its more interesting design. Buying both might be harder to justify unless you’re building a dedicated New Vegas collection.

Nick Valentine Could Be the Best Figure of Wave 2

Nick Valentine is easily the figure that interests me most.

The synthetic detective from Fallout 4 has a very different look from the heavily armoured soldiers. His worn clothing, damaged face and exposed mechanical details give McFarlane plenty to work with.

From the promotional images, the sculpt looks promising, particularly around the face. He includes a removable hat, pistol, two extra hands and display base. The removable hat is a nice touch because it offers two different looks without needing an additional head. Like the power armour figures, Nick features up to 22 moving parts.

My main concern is the paintwork. His face needs careful attention to bring out those exposed mechanical details. A flat paint finish could lose some of what makes the character interesting.

For $34.99, he’s probably my first pick from this wave.

Desert Ranger and Two More Vault Boy Figures

There’s also an NCR Desert Ranger joining the collection as a Red Platinum release.

This seven-inch figure includes a sniper rifle, four additional hands and a display base. It’s exclusive to GameStop in the US, which could make tracking one down more awkward for some collectors.

McFarlane is also releasing two smaller Vault Boy figures. Vault Boy Sneak captures the character in a crouched pose, while Vault Boy Demolition takes inspiration from the game’s explosives perk.

Both are five-inch posed figures with environmental bases and collectible art cards. Unlike the main Gaming Edition releases, these are designed as fixed-pose collectibles.

Sneak is a general release, while Demolition is a Walmart exclusive in the US.

Is Fallout Gaming Edition Wave 2 Worth Buying?

What I like about the McFarlane Gaming Edition Fallout figures is that we’re getting recognisable characters from different parts of the games.

McFarlane has already explored the licence with its Fallout TV series figures and the more expensive Fallout 76 and New Vegas Elite Editions.

These standard releases offer another option at a lower price than the Elite Edition figures. Nick Valentine is my favourite so far. He’s a memorable character, looks different from the rest of the range and comes with sensible accessories.

Scorched Sierra would be my second choice, although I’d like to see how the armour handles articulation before buying. The promotional images look encouraging, but they can’t tell us how well the joints, paint and overall quality will hold up on the final figures.

Which one would you pick? Nick Valentine, one of the power armour figures or the Desert Ranger?
