Mondo’s TMNT Donatello 1/6 Scale Figure is Fully Geared and Ready to Build

Mondo is kicking off its brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/6 scale line with Donatello, and this first release sets the bar high. The Mondo Donatello 1/6 Timed Edition is packed with accessories, expressive head sculpts, character-driven tools and some very clever bonus touches. It’s not shipping until next year, but we’re taking a closer look at what’s included, what stands out, and whether it’s worth locking in a preorder.

A Quick Shell Refresher on Donatello

Donatello has always been the brainiac of the team, rocking a purple mask and wielding a bo staff. He’s the turtle who’d rather rewire a Foot Soldier’s tech than just bash it. Across the many versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Donnie’s been an inventor, engineer and the guy who keeps the gadgets humming. That’s baked right into the design of this figure, and it’s part of what makes the release such a standout.

Mondo Donatello Brings It All to the Workbench

This is the first release in Mondo’s new TMNT 1/6 scale series, and they’re not dipping a toe in the water. The TMNT Donatello Mondo figure comes loaded with everything you’d expect from a premium 1/6 collectible, and then some.

Here’s what stands out:

• Four unique head sculpts including neutral, grin, scowl and smile
• Swappable eyes with white or pupil options
• Swappable bandana tassels
• Six sets of hands
• Two bo staffs: standard and electric version with FX pieces
• Donnie’s inventor gear: screwdriver, wrench, goggles, wristwatch and communicator
• Throwing weapons including ninja stars, kunai, grappling hook and hand blade
• Two “Mouse-Bro” figures named Newton and Magellan
• An in-progress Metalhead head sculpt that hints at future figures
• Figure stand for display options

Everything from his bo staff variations to the included gadgets screams Donatello. You’re not getting generic weapons or filler accessories here, each piece tells part of his story.

How It Looks in the Shell

At around 10 inches tall and weighing roughly 5 pounds, this is a hefty figure made from PVC and ABS with layered textures that really shine in the promo images. The sculpt balances stylisation and realism nicely, and the weathering on his gear gives it that lived-in look.

There’s enough articulation here to pull off some great posing too. Whether you want classic bo staff stances or a tech-lab tinkering setup, the included parts give plenty of room to work with. It’s hard not to get excited thinking about how this would sit alongside something like our Mondo TMNT Soft Vinyl Super Shredder or even the more articulated pieces like the NECA TMNT 2012 Ultimate Foot Soldier.

What Works, and What Might Not

The accessory count is definitely a win, and the expression options go beyond the usual one-or-two-head setup we often see in 1/6 lines. Donatello’s personality is baked right into every piece. The tech tools, the E-staff, the sidekicks—it’s all very in-universe.

At $250 USD, the price is on the premium end, but in line with other high-end sixth scale figures. The fact that it’s a Mondo TMNT Timed Edition adds urgency. Miss the pre-order window, and you’re likely stuck chasing this one on the aftermarket.

There are a couple of caveats. One is the long wait, expected to ship in September 2026. If you’re not patient, that’s a tough gap. The other is shipping. Mondo ships internationally, but for UK and EU buyers, VAT and import fees will push this above retail.

There’s also no standard edition confirmed yet, so this might be your only chance to get this version. If future TMNT releases follow this route, we might see each turtle dropped one by one across years. Collectors with commitment issues, beware.

Should You Buy the Mondo Donatello Figure?

If you’re looking for a one-off Donatello piece that captures his full character, or if you’re planning to collect the new Mondo TMNT Donatello 1/6 scale Timed Edition figure for sale, this is a strong option. It’s clearly designed with collectors in mind, not just fans of the franchise.

If you’re still undecided, consider whether you want to jump in early on this line. Since this is the first figure in the set, it could age well with the rest of the line or stand alone as a centrepiece. It’s also a clear step above most mass-market releases in the TMNT space.

Anyone trying to figure out where to buy the Mondo Donatello Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure, your only window is the Mondo site between now and 2 December 2025. After that, it’s likely gone or upcharged.
