Hold on to your helmets, folks, because McFarlane Toys has just dropped some serious firepower for DC Multiverse collectors! Enter the latest additions to their line-up: the Red Hood 7-inch action figure and his equally menacing Sport Bike, straight out of the Dawn of DC series. These new releases not only capture Red Hood’s gritty attitude but also let collectors bring the action to life in a whole new way.
But let’s dive a little deeper into this masked vigilante and see what makes these pieces such standouts.
The McFarlane Red Hood – Dawn of DC Figure

First up, the Red Hood action figure. I have to say, McFarlane’s sculpting skills are still in peak form. Jason Todd’s post-resurrection persona has never looked sharper—or more dangerous! This 7-inch figure is molded with exquisite detail, from the stitching on his suit to the menacing red helmet, perfectly capturing the Dawn of DC aesthetics.
Judging by the photos released, it’s the little things that really make this figure pop. The textured armor plating, the subtle battle-worn effects, and his tactical belt look legit. Even the Red Hood’s trademark sword and crowbar have this level of craftsmanship that adds to the overall feel of danger he embodies.

The articulation looks top-notch too, which is standard with McFarlane’s DC Multiverse line. I’m betting you’ll be able to pose Red Hood in just about any crime-fighting, vigilante stance you can imagine—whether he’s brooding on a Gotham rooftop or duking it out with the bad guys.
Oh, and let’s not forget the accessories—because no Red Hood figure is complete without them. Sure, he’s got the sword, but I’m loving that McFarlane didn’t shy away from including some more unique weapons, like that crowbar (yup, talk about poetic justice). Definitely a must-have for those who enjoy giving their figures some narrative grit.

The Sport Bike: Red Hood’s Trusty Steed
Now, for all you collectors who need a little extra action in your display, McFarlane also dropped Red Hood’s Sport Bike. I mean, what better way for Jason Todd to tear through Gotham’s streets than on this beast of a ride?

The design has that sleek, cyberpunk-meets-vigilante vibe with angular details and dark red accents that mirror Red Hood’s outfit. If you’re a fan of bike displays like me, then you’re in for a treat. The wheels and frame have a nice gritty texture, and I can already picture it in some killer chase scenes on my shelf.
McFarlane has been knocking it out of the park with these vehicles lately (I’m still swooning over the Batcycle), and this Sport Bike is no exception. It complements Red Hood’s rogue persona perfectly, adding just the right amount of “don’t mess with me” energy. Plus, it fits him like a glove.

Not only will this bike make your shelf pop, but it’s also fully functional in terms of posing. The attention to detail in how it balances with the figure is something that’ll make action poses come to life effortlessly. Now if only it came with a tiny detachable sidecar for comic relief—now that would’ve been something!

Who Is Red Hood?
If you’re new to Red Hood, let me give you a quick refresher. Originally, Red Hood was just another criminal alias used by petty villains. But, it took on new meaning when Jason Todd—Bruce Wayne’s second Robin—was brutally murdered by The Joker. Resurrected through some comic book magic (thank you, Lazarus Pit!), Jason returned as Red Hood, the gun-slinging anti-hero with a major chip on his shoulder.
Jason’s path from troubled sidekick to lethal vigilante has made him one of the most compelling characters in the Batman universe. He’s complex, brutal, and fiercely independent—qualities that the Dawn of DC run has embraced in full force. The creative teams behind the Dawn of DC arc, including some stellar work by various writers and artists like Eddie Berganza, have done an excellent job of exploring the gritty, morally grey side of Gotham’s streets. You can read more about Jason’s backstory here.
My Take
Now, I’m no stranger to action figures, but there’s something about this Red Hood that has me particularly hyped. Maybe it’s because Jason Todd is a bit of a rebel (aren’t we all a little?), or maybe it’s just because McFarlane really nailed his essence with this release. Between the figure’s design, accessories, and that killer bike, McFarlane has delivered a combo that any collector should have on their radar.
For fans of both Red Hood and the Dawn of DC series, this set-up is a perfect way to bring a little Gotham grit to your collection. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a vigilante with serious attitude on their display shelf?
