Vel Sartha (2023) Black Series Review
General Overview:
Vel Sartha, the undercover rebel leader from Andor, joins the Black Series with a solid sculpt and great articulation. Her layered outfit is well-executed, and Hasbro has captured her determined expression nicely. While the figure could have benefited from an additional accessory, she still makes for a fantastic display piece.
Accessories & Functionality:
Vel comes with a modular blaster that can be taken apart and reassembled, which adds a bit of playability. However, a soft goods cloak or additional gear would have helped her feel more complete.
Articulation & Poseability:
With 22 points of articulation, she poses well for action stances, though the elbows can feel a bit stiff at times. Thankfully, she holds her weapon nicely and stands securely without needing extra support.
Head Sculpt & Paint Application:
The head sculpt does a great job of capturing Faye Marsay’s likeness, and the digital face printing adds realism. The paint apps on the outfit are crisp, though a little more weathering could have made it even better.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re building an Andor collection, Vel Sartha is a must-have. She looks great alongside Luthen, Cassian, and the rest of the rebel crew. While a few small additions could have elevated her even more, she remains a strong figure in the Black Series lineup.
