Super7 TMNT ReAction+ Wave 1 Brings O-Ring Turtle Power Back

Super7 is taking the Turtles back to a very specific kind of toy shelf with TMNT ReAction+ Wave 1. This is not trying to be a modern super-articulated line. It is leaning into old-school figure fun, with chunky sculpts, bright colours and O-ring builds.

That gives this wave a clear angle. These are for collectors who like the feel of vintage figures but still want something new, clean and easy to display.

Donatello

Donatello is the calmer-looking Turtle in the wave, and the figure suits him well. The purple mask, wrist bands and knee pads stand out nicely against the green body and yellow plastron.

The sculpt keeps things simple. He has a broad chest, rounded limbs and a friendly cartoon face, which gives him that classic toy feel rather than a sharp modern look. The shell is included as a separate display piece, along with his bow staff.

The staff is a must for Donnie, so it is good to see it here. I would have liked a slightly more expressive head, but for this retro style, the neutral look makes sense.

Raphael

Raphael brings a bit more attitude straight away. The red mask and gritted teeth help separate him from Donatello, which matters when the body shapes are quite similar.

He comes with his shell and two sai, so the essentials are covered. The sai look chunky enough for this scale, and they should display well either in hand or beside him.

The main thing I like here is that Super7 has not just changed the colour and called it done. The face gives Raph more character. He still sits within the same simple ReAction+ style, but he feels like his own figure.

Shredder

Shredder is the standout of Wave 1 for me. The silver helmet, shoulder armour and bladed gauntlets make him look busier than the Turtles, but not messy.

The purple cape is a nice touch, especially as it is fabric rather than sculpted plastic. It should give the figure a little more life on display. He also comes with a katana sword, which keeps the accessory count simple but useful.

The proportions are very toy-like, with a wide upper body and bold armour. That may not please collectors who want a perfect cartoon likeness, but it works for this line. Shredder looks like the villain of the shelf, and that is the job.

For another fun Turtle villain crossover, the Limited Edition Masters of the Universe Skele-Shredder is worth a look.

Foot Ninja

The Foot Ninja might be the quietest figure in the wave, but it could end up being the one people buy more than once. Army builders always have that pull, especially when they are tied to TMNT.

The black and purple colour mix looks clean, and the yellow eyes pop well under the mask. He comes with a katana and punch dagger, giving him a bit more variety than just a single weapon.

The big question is price. At $25 each, building a squad could get expensive quickly. One Foot Ninja makes sense beside Shredder. Three or four would look great, but that is where the cost starts to bite.

How the Wave Works Together

As a first wave, the line-up is smart. Donatello and Raphael give us half the team. Shredder gives the wave a clear villain. The Foot Ninja adds display options and gives the Turtles someone to fight.

Each figure is in 4-inch scale with 9 points of articulation and an O-ring body. That means these are not built for deep posing, but they should still be fun to handle. The style is closer to a cleaned-up vintage figure than a modern collector figure.

For a more modern take on the team, our NECA TMNT 2012 Sketch Turtles 4-Pack Review sits in a very different lane.

Is It Worth Picking Up?

If you collect retro-style TMNT, this wave makes sense. It has the right characters, a fun scale and enough accessories to feel complete on a small display.

If you are buying for articulation, I would pause. The O-ring build is part of the charm, but it is also the limit. These are play-friendly, poseable enough and easy to display, but not action-photo monsters.

For me, Shredder and the Foot Ninja are the easiest picks. Donatello and Raphael depend on whether you plan to finish the team. Once Leonardo and Michelangelo arrive, the whole idea will click much harder.
