This is not just another Optimus repaint with a funny name. It is Hasbro taking the Mystery Machine idea and pushing it through the Transformers Collaborative line. The big question is whether the joke has enough toy value behind it.

The Angle Here Is the Gimmick
Some crossover figures live or die by the vehicle mode. This one is clearly built around that Mystery Machine look.
Mysterious Prime turns from a 6-inch scale Voyager Class robot into a van inspired by the Mystery Machine in 19 steps. That is a smart choice because the van is the thing most Scooby-Doo collectors will recognise at once. It also gives Transformers collectors a proper alt mode rather than something that feels forced.
Automutt is the smaller extra figure, changing from a Scooby-Doo styled robot dog into a Scooby Snacks box in 6 steps. That is silly, but in the right way. This whole set should be a bit daft. Scooby-Doo has always been full of strange ideas, masks, traps and spooky nonsense, so a transforming Scooby robot does not feel that far away.

The Heads Are Doing Most of the Work
The most interesting part is not actually the van. It is the four swappable heads.
You get robot-style versions of Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma. That gives Mysterious Prime a lot more display choice than a single fixed head would have done. It also makes the figure feel more like a Mystery Inc. team tribute rather than just “Optimus in van colours”.
This is where the mysterious prime and automutt transformers set may split collectors. Some will love the weird character heads. Others may wish the main robot had its own unique Mystery Machine head instead.
I can see both sides. The head gimmick gives the set personality, but it also means the robot mode looks quite busy. From the promo images, it does not seem like a clean heroic bot design. It looks more like a fun crossover toy that knows it is a bit strange.
That is not a bad thing. It just means you need to know what you are buying.
What You Get in the Box
The set includes Mysterious Prime, Automutt, four heads, a camera, a flashlight, and orange and green ascot accessories. The camera and flashlight make sense for Scooby-Doo, and they give the robot something useful to hold.
The ascots are a neat touch too. They are small parts, but they help the set lean into the Fred and Daphne side of the gang without needing full separate figures.
This is not a huge accessory load for the price, but it is more thoughtful than just throwing in a blaster. I would rather see character-based extras like this than generic weapons that do not fit the crossover.

Value and Possible Concerns
At $57.99, this is not a cheap impulse buy. You are paying for two figures, the licence, and the Collaborative line branding. That is normal for these crossovers, but it still matters.
The transformers mysterious prime figure looks strongest in vehicle mode. The Mystery Machine colours should make it pop in a display, especially next to other odd crossover releases. The main concern is the robot mode proportions. Based on the images, it has that van-to-robot shape where panels and blocky parts are always going to be part of the deal. That will not bother everyone, but collectors who like clean robot silhouettes may find it a bit clunky.
We also only have promo images for now, so final paint and QC are still unknown. The bright Mystery Machine colours will need tidy paint lines to really work.
The automutt transformers figure is harder to judge. The Scooby Snacks box mode is funny, but the dog robot may be the part people either love or leave in the box.
Final Thoughts

Personally, I like that it is weird. I am not fully sold on every design choice, especially the busy robot look, but the idea has charm. If the paint comes out clean and the transformation feels solid, this could be one of those oddball releases that grows on people once it is in hand.
